Manual Osteopathy

Whole-body, hands-on.

Manual Osteopathic Therapy treats the body as one connected system - structure, fluid, and function, met as a whole.

What is Osteopathy?

Manual Osteopathic Therapy (MOT) is based on the principle that the body functions as a unit - you cannot separate any part from the whole, and its function is interrelated with its structure. The body has an inherent ability to self-regulate and heal itself, and the goal of MOT is to seek out any source of blockage or misalignment which may be impeding proper function.

It incorporates gentle hands-on techniques to assess and treat the body holistically, with an appreciation of the various systems and how they are all connected. It works toward unwinding past trauma by balancing alignment and releasing restricted fascia - the complex tissue that connects and communicates across all systems of the body. This gives space for better fluid flow, and ultimately facilitates the body to restore balance and maintain health.

Manual Osteopathic Therapy can benefit anyone of any age seeking to relieve pain, improve mobility and posture, increase lymphatic and blood circulation, regulate the nervous system, and enhance overall well-being.

What to expect

The session.

Each session consists of a thorough head-to-toe assessment of all the systems of the body in order to curate a treatment plan tailored specifically to each individual and to seek out the root cause of the issue.

The treatment is done while the client is clothed, so shorts and a sports bra or other flexible attire is recommended.
