Originally from the UK, Lorna moved to Canada in 2009. She is a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) with the College of Complementary Health Professionals of BC (CCHPBC).
Lorna is passionate about all aspects of rehabilitation, she is dedicated to helping people from all walks of life find relief from pain or trauma to enjoy a more balanced, fulfilling lifestyle. She brings a compassionate and client-centered approach to each session - taking time to listen to individual concerns and tailoring treatments to meet each client's unique goals. She values creating a therapeutic relationship built on trust, empathy, and professionalism.
With a strong commitment to holistic care, Lorna addresses not only the physical aspects of pain, but also considers the emotional and psychosomatic factors that may contribute to discomfort. She has a particular passion for nervous system regulation and the effects that stress and trauma play on the body, incorporating this into her treatments to support deeper healing and long-term wellness.
Lorna also holds certification in Craniosacral Therapy I (Assessment of Central Nervous System and Fascia for Full Body Treatment Protocol) and Craniosacral Therapy II (Moving Beyond the Dura for Assessing Acute and Chronic Conditions), through the Upledger Institute.
Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle, non-invasive technique that helps evaluate and release restrictions in the craniosacral system. The craniosacral system comprises of the membranes (meninges) and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. This subtle approach complements her other modalities and is especially effective for clients dealing with concussions, migraines, chronic pain, stress, trauma (emotional or physical), TMJ dysfunction, tinnitus or nervous system dysregulation.
She is skilled in a wide range of therapeutic techniques including Swedish massage, deep tissue therapy, myofascial release, neuromuscular techniques, trigger point therapy, PNF (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation) stretching, and joint mobilizations.
Outside of her clinical practice, Lorna enjoys spending time outdoors - boating and paddleboarding, skiing, hiking, yoga, playing tennis, and relaxing at home with her beloved senior Basset Hound, Ruby.
